Karen Van Luven is a Human Resources Consultant who specializes in helping small businesses manage their relationships with their employees.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (B.Comm. Hons.) from Queen’s University and is Certified as a Human Resources Professional (C.H.R.P.) in the Province of Ontario.
Starting her career in Sales and then Marketing with a major Canadian manufacturing company, Karen followed her passion and moved into Human Resources. She has spent the past 20 years in the field, working in all areas of Human Resources, and progressed from Supervisor to Vice-President in 6 years.
Karen launched her consulting business in 2002, and remains committed to providing counsel and practical expertise to business operators who do not have, or need, a full time, senior level resource. Clients include small to medium sized businesses across a wide range of industries and sectors. Experience includes work in food processing, textile and other manufacturing, importing and marketing, telecommunications and IT, insurance and Not for Profit organizations. Most are privately held, they are always entrepreneurial and experiencing significant change.
A mediator by nature, Karen works with all levels of the organization – from the “shop floor to the Boardroom”, to develop mutual understanding and effective performance.
